ThirukOlUr is the birth place of sri madhurakavi azhwAr who was an ardent disciple of prapanna jana kootastar swamy nammazhwAr. Swamy NammazhwAr who was speechless in his yoga 16 years after his birth uttered his first words only to sri madhurakavi AzhwAr. Only after this divine incident the four divine divya prabhandams of swamy NammazhwAr equated to the essense of the four sankrit vEdAs emanEted from the divine mouth of swamy nAmmAzhwAr was scripted by madhurakavi azhwAr.
The lord in this divine divyadEsam is celebrated as vaithamAnidhi - meaning possessor of infinite wealth. Whatever wealth he can possess more than sri madhurakavi azhwAr who showed the charama parva nishtai (Acharya as the ultimate means), the ultimate milestone of srivaishnava sampradayam.
It is well known from the incidents of swamy rAmAnujAchArya (thirukOlur ammAl pen pillai rahasyam), how the srivaishnavAs in this divyadEsam have possessed the treasures of gnyana and bakthi.
But the pathetic state today is that, this great divyadesam doesn't even have any cabinet to store perumal's vastrams and jewels.
We humbly appeal to all srivaishnavas to contribute for this divine cause.
